We are a newly established pharmaceutical company which has been outperforming market growth since our business was launched. The business has very prosperous ambition and plan for 2015 and beyond. Due to business expansion, we are seeking to recruit professional caliber to join as Supply Chain Manager reporting to the Managing Director and based in Cairo.
Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:
Management of the logistics function for the company with the purpose being to ensure:
- Delivery of to-market budget and in-market stock levels,
- Adherence to the company’s supply chain model through implementation of automated supply chain processes and systems,
- Demand planning and facilitation of monthly demand review and demand / supply meetings with factory
- Negotiation with supply sites
- Coordination of tender quotations and supplies to distributors,
- Operational activities of sales order processing, follow-up of shipments to trade and tender sectors
- Maximize customer service
- In- and to-market sales reporting and monitoring
- Inventory at distributors is optimal and within agreed terms
- Expiry of products on shelf is minimized at distributors
- Documentation of processes, procedures and current / new ways of working for department
- Leadership of the team with focus on commercial achievement, process excellence, customer service and above all, performance with integrity
- Provision of sales performance analysis and reporting for the organization, including monitoring current levels & forecasting future levels of inventory levels at distributor
Accountability
The primary accountability of the Logistics Manager role is for the management of the Logistics function and maintaining strong relationships with distributor & supply site personnel to ensure a high customer service level in the most cost effective manner. Continuous improvement of inventory management, Demand Planning process (including consensus forecasting, NP launch planning, supply sourcing), KPI monitoring & reporting, The role requires some one who is able to balance commercial focus and process improvement within the overall governance framework of the organization.
Specialized Knowledge:
- University qualification (graduate or Masters) in logistics / operations / business
- Experience in logistics management preferably in an international commercial / manufacturing organisation
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills at various levels (English) with Arabic preferred as well
- Good inter personal skills
- High degree of numeracy
- Superior computer literacy / spreadsheet skills
- Highly developed intellect to understand complex operating models and suggest initiatives for improvement
- Ability to manage and motivate team, as well as to act professionally with peer group, customers and service providers
- Ability to work in a multinational environment
- Self-driven individual with a strong commitment towards excellence and customer service
