Description:

  • A Social Media Manager helps to increase exposure through our social media platforms, he will work alongside a specialized team to reach company brand’s goals.
  • A Social Media Manager is the link between our business and our social media followers, more than just attracting new customers, analyzes data to determine which initiatives work best and capitalize on this information to continue scaling your business.

Responsibilities for Social Media Manager:

  • Writing text posts that inform and engage audiences
  • Posting photos and graphics with captions
  • Including relevant hashtags to boost a post’s visibility on a platform
  • Responding to comments on posts, directly engaging with followers
  • Holding special contests and giveaways that encourage followers to share, like, comment and repost an organization’s content, boosting visibility
  • Conducting customer service over comments and private messages, including handling customer issues or directing them to the proper department
  • Monitoring the success of posts by reviewing metrics such as comments, likes, shares, views and clicks
  • Creating social media campaigns around a specific theme, topic or advertising strategy
  • Marketing products, services and events on behalf of their organization or the individual they post for
  • Collaborating with other marketing and advertising professionals to create a cohesive and consistent brand identity, including social media personality
  • Promoting brand loyalty and an online community of followers
  • Oversee day-to-day management of campaigns and ensure brand consistency
  • Facilitate scaling brand and company awareness through various social media channels
  • Work with brand to create and implement social media strategies monthly
  • Ensure brand consistency in copy through tone, voice and terminology
  • Supervise all aspects of social media interaction between customers and the company, and ensure a positive customer service experience
  • Create actionable plans to both grow and maintain followers through popular social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube and LinkedIn
  • Ensure progress on all platforms by using analytical tools such as Google Analytics and others
  • Oversee the creating and implementation of the monthly editorial calendar which includes monthly sales objectives and initiatives.

Skills:

  • Writing:must be able to write concise, catchy and informative posts and captions. They should also be able to create posts within the limitations of each platform and write with a distinct and consistent style, tone and persona.
  • Social media platforms:They should understand what each platform is meant to do and what, if any limitation they have for content. Some features and limitations include image-based posts, character limits and the use of hashtags.
  • Graphic design:Use basic or advanced graphic design skills to create graphics that inform and engage followers, especially those that work freelance or in small digital marketing firms.
  • Project management:Social media managers should be able to plan and execute a content campaign, including scheduling specific posts, writing posts and collecting images, commenting to followers frequently and analyzing the success of individual posts and a whole campaign.
  • Analysis:Social media managers must analyze the data to determine trends, such as when the most followers are active on a page and what types of images followers like the best. They use these trends and insights to optimize their content creating and posting strategies.
  • Customer service:Social media managers must have excellent customer service skills, including empathy and clear written communication. These skills ensure that all communications are productive, professional and consistent with the brand’s identity and mission.
  • Creative thinking:Use their creativity to publish engaging content. They also must use their creative thinking to determine the best ways to create content that reaches a clear goal.
  • Collaboration:Must collaborate with others to collect additional content, such as photos, graphics, product launch information and more. Those that work for clients may collaborate with them to ensure their work is what is best for the client’s social media goals.
  • Organization and time management:Have strong organizational skills to plan content ahead of time, complete a variety of tasks and collect assets to be combined into publishable posts, also be able to prioritize time based on which daily tasks need to be completed.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of social media management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, journalism, public relations or related field
  • Professional certification in Google Analytics strongly preferred
  • Proficient using multi-social posting programs.
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites
  • Relevant experience determining a target audience and how to cater unique marketing campaigns to capture their attention
  • Strong understanding of marketing strategy and how to effortlessly utilize these concepts throughout various forms of outreach
  • Ability to manage and supervise a diverse group of employees and simultaneously work toward many company initiatives at once
