National Sales Manager

Job brief

Our company’s leadership team needs a motivated, results-driven Sales Manager to lead our sales department in KSA. The successful candidate will understand what motivates customers to buy and know how to tap into those needs and desires in an effective way. The National Sales Manager will be responsible for leading a team of district managers and medical reps. Responsibilities

In summary, your responsibilities would include:

  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully leading and managing the sales team in selling the company range of brands.
  • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base and ensures its strong presence.
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
  • Overall responsibility for sales staff recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring.
  • Maintains national sales staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team
  • Determining annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies; analyzing trends and results.
  • Liaising closely with the marketing department
  • Establishing sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales targets for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Planning use of resources in medium and long-term to meet sales targets e.g. budget, human resource planning, product planning
  • In conjunction with the marketing team and the General Manager (GM) develop effective reward systems for the sales team

Requirements

This is a high-profile opportunity and there will no doubt be significant interest. You will need to differentiate yourself as an exceptional leader as well as offering the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical sales management
  • Ideally, have a medical background degree, MBA is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong decision-making abilities
  • Demonstrate strong leadership with excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills as well as having project management skills and high level of analytical thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Strong sales success record, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain
  • Able to travel up to 50% of time
