Key Account Manager – Pharmaceutical Events
We are looking for a highly experienced Key Account Manager to join our fantastic organization to further enhance the phenomenal success of this business. The ideal candidate must have an extensive experience of working within the pharmaceutical events industry ideally within an agency.
Role Objectives:
– To build excellent relationship with clients, suppliers and internal staff.
– To take full responsibility for undertaking and managing multiple projects simultaneously – to extremely high quality according to the specifications and timelines agreed by the company and the client. Projects will involve medical education, digital media, training programs, conference/meeting planning and management, and presentation/material development.
Role Responsibilities:
Strategic Input and Creativity:
– Show a strong understanding of project objectives and provide creative input across all projects.
– Develop proposals and costing for clients in line with company pricing structure.
Project management:
– Manage and plan all project activities and timelines in line with the agreed budget and company processes.
– Brief and manage the cross-functional team regarding specific roles and responsibilities to ensure the delivery of each project according to or exceeding client brief.
– Develop and manage project documentation ensuring full record retention (electronically and/or hard copies).
Budgeting:
– Develop proposals and costing for clients in line with company pricing structure.
– Manage and maintain hours across the project; identify any budget issues at the earliest opportunity and discuss solutions with manager/client lead.
Culture:

– Develop excellent working relationship with clients, the internal team, and suppliers.
Interactions
– Maintain a professional, efficient and courteous manner at all times.
– Manage each assigned project and keep manager/project lead and client informed on progress.
– Attend client and agency meetings as appropriate; travel outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be required.
– Work with international KOLs on appropriate projects, ensuring timely, appropriate and respectful communications throughout.
– Liaise with internal team to ensure appropriate coordination and division of workload within account management team, identify potential resourcing problems, and ensure senior team members are up-to-date on activities/workload.
– Identify and liaise with external contractors and suppliers, providing clear direction and ensuring that work that is returned conforms to or exceeds brief.
– Manage and oversee direct reports (where appropriate) and develop performance plans in accordance with company and personal objectives.
– Support and mentor junior members of the team.
Business development
– Identify opportunities across the current client base, discuss with clients and senior staff.
– Identify potential new customers and promote the company in order to win new business.
– Develop proposals for new business and attend pitches where necessary.
– Take responsibility for the management of new customers; aiding with the identification of their business needs and communications requirements.
Person Specification & Criteria
– Ideal candidates will have extensive experience of working within the pharmaceutical events industry ideally within an agency.
– Must have the ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects effectively
– Strong Sales background with the ability to develop new business opportunities and negotiate effectively
– Highly organized with excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
– Strong Event Project Management skills with commercial strategic management abilities
– Effective line management abilities to manage and mentor more junior staff within the team
– Strong focus on liaison with clients and key opinion leaders within the medical/ pharmaceutical industry
